Got a ASUS A7v133 with Athlon 1g. Running Asus Probe, keeps popping up in multiples saying something about too many points or something. Machine runs slow if at all. Started having problem with mouse working then not at all. when you reboot now it can't find the mouse. Fans are all working. Wondering about board going bad or HD. Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Not to sound crass, but those "somethings" could really help us diagnose your problem - please pay attention and jot them down when next they occur.

I will try to get the details. My brother inlaw has the machine and I can't reach him tonight.
Thank you

Is the processor running at the correct speed? Perhaps the mobo underclocked it because it was overheating? Again, those details would help... Also, have you change the configuration at all lately? Have you tried disabling Asus Probe - is that the cause of your pc? Are you running an antivirus? I know Norton used to slow up my computer a whole lot...

All settings were defaults, just running setup config. Talked to my brother inlaw and he said the message that ASUS probe gave was something like "number of data points exceeds limits"and keeps popping new windos up with the same message. He can't get the machine to startup to try again. When it boots up it takes for ever to try and start Windows , like ten minutes so he just turned it back off. He doesnt know how to go into bios to check temps etc. Had him turn off Probe the first time and reboot. Thats when it couldn't find the mouse after repeated attempts at startup. I am ready to say something went wrong with the board, possibly the one small chip fan may have stopped. May get my hands on it next week if they drive over for the holiday.

I had an A7V133 die on me-I read recently that many of the mb manufacturers (Abit,Epox, more) "were" using less-than-stellar quality Taiwanese capacitors. Hoping that has changed with some recent boards (P4PE for one) having a 3 year warranty.
