well the 1st needs 2.5v, the 2nd needs 2.6v. also, i believe its x16, and x8, which is cell arrangement. x16 being very low density, which is better than low density x8. x16 is most compatible i beelive.
The only difference is the chip memory density (one uses 8 RAM chips, the other uses 16). Unless you have an older motherboard that can't deal with high-density chips, it doesn't matter.

If you were to try overclocking the memory. Wouldn't the 8 memory chip version be better? Have less memory chips that need to go faster.
