Difference between these two cards???

Sorry if this is a n00b question, but i'm wondering what the difference is between this card and this one. Is the $20 price difference just because of the manufactures, or is the first one a "lite" version of the kyro II... more importantly, which one should I get?

It is sort of a "lite version", first came the kyro chipset running at 115mhz and then it was tweaked and upgraded to 175mhz for extra speed thus making the kyro 2.

The only real difference you need to remember is that the kyro usually runs at 115mhz and uses the 0.25 micron fabrication process. The Kyro 2 runs at 175mhz and uses the 0.18 micron fabrication process which is why it runs faster and uses less power than the kyro chipset. Apart from that they are virtually the same, the price difference between them is very small so it really doesn't make sense to get a kyro instead of a kyro2.

If you take a look at pricewatch.com there are cheaper versions of Kyro II that are just as good as that Hercules 4500 Kyro II. There's a INNO3d Kyro II 64mb and a Apollo Kyro II 64mb on pricewatch for only $66.

As nemesismk2 says there's no reason to get a Kyro 1 these days unless you want something under $50. Because the Kyro II is 55% faster then Kyro 1, usually has double the amount of ram and is only 31% more expensive at the cheapest online stores.
