Ohh and BTW,

Dont buy the Antec PP-510D if you only have a regular ATX motherboard, this 500 watt powersupply is ONLY meant for dual setups. I found this out the hard way. The ATX connector that connects to the motherboard is too large for a regular ATX connector.

the mps are unlocked? i doubt that...why would they sell a chip RTOC...ready to overclock.....

As far as I know it is possible to use XP's on a dual board,
a friend has dual 1900+ XP's on a Tyan Thunder board.

I think the difference is support, I.E.
AMD will be a little more cooperative with supplying the tech support if you say you are/were running MP
rather than XP chips,

The friend has two sticks of 512 Meg ECC Registered RAM.
It's set so each CPU has it's own stick theoretically
(meaning one stick in dimm1 one in dimm3)
I believe the chips have their own bus to the northbridge

Anyway

MP's are guaranteed by AMD to run in smp. XP's are not. They both have the same core otherwise and XP's will run in smp...they just aren't guaranteed to and there's no returning them if they don't. The only other difference is the MP's don't have the laser pits cut into the L1 bridges. Both the MP's and XP's are multiplier locked but but because the pits aren't present in the MP's it makes them easier to unlock using one of the standard techniques.
