Differences in Intel heatsink stock fans?

I just bought two Q6600s at Microcenter, and I was looking at the packaging and noticed that the fans are different.

One says "Delta", and is rated 12V DC, 0.60A.
One says "Foxconn", and is rated 12V DC, 0.14A.

From my two prior E2140 purchases, both fans say "Nidec Corp.", and is rated 12V DC, 0.20A.

Obviously, Intel uses different OEMs for their fans. I'm not concerned about that. What does concern me, is the vastly different ratings for the fans.

Do the higher current fans have greater performance?

Why did one of my Q6600s have a fan with only 0.14A, when my E2140s had 0.20A fans?

What are all the different fan varieties that Intel uses? Perhaps we could use this thread to build a database of them.

More important numbers would be RPM, since RPMs are the biggest factor that change airflow/noise for the fans, with bearing type and quality being second. Delta is known mostly for its high-performance 120x38 fans, and Foxconn is known as being the OEM for just about everything. Based on the amperage, I think that the Delta has a higher max RPM than the Foxconn and Nidec.

I'm pulling most of this out of the air, so don't expect it all to be correct. If you can get more information about the fans, post it. RPMs and model numbers especially, since you can usually look up model numbers on the manufacturer's website.

IS that a zalman HSF bundled with the QX9650???

To OP:
I honestly doubt that there is going to be a very notably performance difference between any of them. Fan's max amp ratings are just that, a max rating, and not necessarily what they run at, ever for that matter.

Not sure who the OEM is. It doesn't have any heatpipes, just a lot of fins. Definitely the biggest OEM fan I've seen. There's lots of differences between various models' fans, blade pitch, width, etc. The QX6700's came with blue blades instead of black and were LOUD. (3500rpm) Still ran hot (> 46°C idle at stock (2.66G) speed and VCORE!)

Celerons (core based like the 440) have smaller bases and the fin area is about 50% as tall as say the fan that is supplied with an E6600. The bottom is also aluminum instead of copper. They definitely have a bunch of different ones.

Ok, I honestly haven't even seen the stock HSF for any of my A64's in years so I can't comment all to much on these intel stock HSFs. I think I heard that the 8400's are coming with the shorter celeron style HSFs but with different fans, can you confirm or deny, I'll try and find the thread, I think in was in CPU&OC.

i know the QX6850 and the Q6600 comes with different stock heatsinks with different AMP ratings. i sold one of them so i won't be able to give the specs and compare, but i can confirm that they are indeed different

OMG Rubycon I love that heat sink. Is it available for sale?

On topic: All my E6xx0 CPUs came with aluminum fins and copper bottom, while all E21x0 CPUs came with aluminum fins and aluminum bottom. Oh and some of the fins are 'copuled'. I don't think there is a set pattern per SKU, although there certainly is a trend. Don't remember the fan ratings but they were mostly 0.12A or 0.20A. Pentium D heat sink I still have from years ago came with a fan rated 0.40A.

No - I was told to hold on to it if I was not going to use it.

I just put together two different E8400 systems for friends (the new PC bug is going around) and one of the stock heatsinks looked like it had some brass or copper for the contact spot. The other looked like it just had a square of the metal the fins were made of.

I don't have access to them to look at, but I'm getting another for myself this week and I'll have to take a look at it.
