hmm, well the fry's next to me has only PNY and BFG. I would try buyin online, but everywhere on backorder and then they jack the price to 399 anyways. So I figured my best bet was to get it at fry's since they had it instock.

The eVGA comes with a free copy of Farcry, so it would be my second choice.

Where can I find the best price on a BFG 6800 GT? Sorry if I derail the thread.
Depends on the company . Most will void the warranty once you raise the clock speeds above what they are when the card leaves the factory.Originally posted by: Confusednewbie1552
I have a question, if you overclock the warranty gets voided no matter what the company is, right?

In BFG's case, they remove the HSF and apply Arctic Silver and then OC the core slightly.

1) how do you know they apply AS? (not questioning what you say, just curious where you got this
information)
2) if they do apply AS, is it only to the OC versions of the 6800?
I've got the BFG 5900 (stock 400/850) which I've got running nicely at 475/950. I was thinking to apply some AS5 hoping to squeeze it even more, but if it's already on there, then... I'm probaby hitting the performance ceiling.
Thanks,
