The key unencrypted older HD-DVDs (like DeCSS to DVDs). The MPAA started issuing takedown and cease & desist notices to all sites that had the key posted. Digg complied and banned users for posting the key, now their userbase is rebelling.
I'm half tempted to post it here, but the mods would probably get pissed. There are also a ton of Slashdot users that have it in their signature, though... and they aren't doing ANYTHING to remove them! Go Slashdot!
Even google got a cease and desist for indexing the number. It's so stupid. Clearly this anti-piracy thing isn't working out. They really just need to come up with a new way to monetize rather than crapping on their user base.
