Digi Cam Purchase Inquiry

I have a Kodak DX3600, looking to get another camera in the $200 price range. I definately don't want a kodak, it's good at daytime but if you wanna take pictures at night, forget it. I hear Olympus and Canon are good. What camera should I go for? Thanks.

I have talked to photographers about this, and their response has always been that a regular camera is still considerably better quality than a digital. Other than that, my friends have found olympus to be a good brand.

I have the Olympus C-4000 and it takes beautiful pictures. It's ability to take night or low-light
pic's is awsome. But it's a little more priceier probably than what your looking for. I paid $326.00,
not including taxes and S&H. Great deal! Selling for $399.00 now at the same place I bought mine.
I didn't buy it on-sale so I think they may have made a mistake. The suggested retail is $449.00
Anyway I would go with Olympus, Canon, or one of the FujiFinpix cameras. Your bound to find a
nice camera in your price range.

Been very pleased with my Nikon 885. Compact with a very robust feature set. I believe their latest model is a 4 megapixel version, the Nikon 5600.

Honestly you can get a pretty decent cam for around $200. Just remember that you're not going to get anything with fantastic resolution. You'll pretty much get at most 2 megapixels which will be fine for email, web, desktop backgrounds, and printing pics up to 5X7. My recommendation is to go to your local Circuit or BB and try out a few. Stick with brands you recognize. the Fuji FinePix 2650 and the Nikon Coolpix 2100 are both good choices for around $200-250. Hope this helps.

I would reccomend a 3 megapixel camera made by Canon or Minolta.

I have a 3 megapixel toshiba t30 that I got at Best Buy last boxing day for $400CDN ($250US) and it's amazing. I find the quality of the prints are better than SLR. Basically, if you have an EXIF camera and an EXIF printer, you get perfect, professional quality colour matching every time.

PS. You probably can't get a decent 3 megapixel model for $200.
