Hi everyone,
I want to buy a digital camera that has at least 3.0MP, but I don't want to spend anymore than $400. Anyone have any suggestions on which model or at least what brands I should look for? Which brands/models to stay away from? Please give me your input. It will be greatly appreciated.

I have had excellent luck with Fuji digital cameras. I have a Fuji Finepix 1300 (1.3MP) and I love it. The best part is I can take hundreds of pictures (with flash and the LCD ON) before having to recharge the batteries (I use 4 NIMH AA's).

Would have to agree about the Fuji camera. I have the same 1.3MP and I love it.

I have the Olympus camedia 3040. It is an excelent camera. I don't know how much it is going for now.

Not sure about the cost but I do like the Fuji 601F (too expensive I think), but the Pentax Optio 330 has won a few awards and is a smart camera. However, not made as well but I like the Nikon Coolpix 885.

I have been waiting for a Canon IXUS to be developed which is at least 3 MP and thought it was going to happen then Canon go and bring out 2 more 2.1MP cameras namely the IXUS v2 and 330.

The Optio 330 is the best 3MP seller in the UK from what I'm told.

I have a FujiFilm FinePix 2600z (2.1MP) -- it was $240 after tax and everything. I got it from MicroCenter when they were having their deals...

another vote for Fuji quality...i've got the FinePix A101 1.3mp cam. my mom has a Nikon Coolpix 660 cam though, and that's extremely nice as well (not sure about the cost though)...so i'd recommend either Fuji or Nikon.

If i read your post correctly you want a 3mp for around $400. Here's a few:
Kodak 3900 3.1mp 2x optical
Olympus c3020zoom 3.34mp 3x optical
Olympus D550 3mp 3x optical
Nikon Coolpix 885 3.21mp 3x optical
Sony Cybershot DSCP71 3.2mp 3x optical
Canon Powershot S30 3.3mp 3x optical

These are all really good cameras. I especially like the Kodak's price (about $300) but in my opinion you should go with the Canon S30. It's about $400-450 but well worth the money. Great camera with excellent image quality. For reviews of all these cameras check

I've had great experiences with my Kodak DC-290 camera. Kodak digicams aren't the smallest in the market, but you're not afraid that they'll break in your back either .
