Digital Doc 5 vs. Pyramid II to control fans

I'm getting a new aluminum case with a 120mm intake fan, 80mm side intake fan, two 80mm exhaust fans, and and enermax PS with motherboard-controlled intake fan, and I've read the reviews for both the DigitalDoc 5 and Pyramid II. Anyone have any opinions on which is better (I guess it boils down to a theoretical argument about automatic vs. manual control, huh?). also,. it might be significant that I have a bunch of thermally controlled case fans that I could use instead of standard case fans. I have no experience with external fan controls like the two products mentioned, so I'm trying to figure out all the possible ways it could work. Any speculation would be much appreciated.

Well, I know there's got to be some interst in this, so I'll start off the discussion about it...

The dilemma of whether to be very meticulous about manual fan control (ie DigitalDoc 5) or trust that the Pyriamid's sensor will correctly throttle back fans automatically is tough. Of course, the idea solution would be to have the auotmatic scaling of fan speeds by voltage management be integrated into the DigitalDoc. It doesn't seem like the further programming would be all that hard to make it so the DigiDoc could throttle back fans rather than just turning them on or off.

Realistically, though, my budget is only going to fit one solution. I'm leaning toward the digidoc for a couple reasons:
1. I want to mod the orange LED to be blue to match all my case lighting
2. I have thermally a bunch of controlled fans anyway, which basically do at each location what a Pyramid would do from one central location
3. The DIgiDoc wins hands down in temp and voltage monitoring (I like to know what is going on in my case... irregular electrical currents in my house have already killed more than a couple components...)

Ok, got the ball rolling. anyone have any more thoughts?

i think I saw a mod somewhere for the digidoc that when it would usually turn off the fans (does it ever do that automatically?) it would just slow it down instead.

if u have thermally controlled fans - isn't the choice obvious?

yeah i think it turns off fans if the temps on individual sensors get low enough.
i would LOVE to know where you saw that mod.
and the reason i haven't ordered made the decision yet is that i still have a **itload of normal case fans that would all go to waste, and i'm going to have to buy a couple of non 80mm fans anyway (do they even sell 120mm fans with thermal sensors?)
plus that pyramid thingy looks so cool... hehe
