Digital Photo Album by Kensington $ 65

I thought this was a deal worth mentioning. Did a quick search of the forums and didn't see it posted. Compsource has a Kensington Digital frame for $ 65. Any one have a feel for these guys as far as shipping cost and reputation?

Wow you're a dollar short and a day late. If you search the other posts for Kensington, you should be able to buy directly from the Kensington site, use a $40.00 coupon, and get the same product for around $45.00 shipped.

the kensington is indeed craptastic... and I paid $69 for it a few months back. My roomate got the Kodak frame... MUCH better, especially since you needn't be tethered to a computer.

For $45, the Kensington was perfect for what I needed it for -- I loaded up a bunch of pics of the family and gave it to my grandparents. To them, it's amazing. If I were going to buy one for myself, I'd definitely go with the Kodak.

Same here....cheap gift for others...but I wouldn't buy one for myself...

I rather get another computer and hook up a flat panel display to it

or many hook up my camera to a flat plasma tv...

so many other ways...

Yeah...I just ordered both. The Kensington (got that for $47 using the coupon) has a passive matrix screen and is very poor quality. Images are washed out, bad flickering and the images are noticable only if viewed deadon. If it were more than $50 I wouldn't recommend it at all, but it's useful and it's Album software is a no brainer. lets you set every setting. You use the provided USB cable to download photos.

The Kodak (for $99 from Computer Geeks) on the other hand....man does it blow the Kensington away. Great wooden frame, bright and clear active matrix screen. Not to mention that images are viewed at 640x480 while te Kensington displays them at 320x240. The only drawback is that you need a CompactFlash card to download images so if your digicam don't use compact flash like mine (Olympus 2040...great camera!) then you need a cf adapter to transfer your images.

The way I look at it...get the Kodak if it's for yourself or order the Kensington if it's a gift. Can't go wrong that way.

got a kodak question .... got one for myself, but it has a high pitched noise whenever plugged in, not just when on.

any comments on how to get rid of this?
