It's definitely true that nothing beats a calibrated CRT for eye-popping colors these days. Us folk (including me) with LCDs have no choice but to use DV. It's like substituting artifical food flavoring for the actual thing, or Acesulfame-K for sugar, whatever floats your boat. Just that ~10/255 RGB saturation boost does the trick for me. It's time for NVIDIA/ATI to come up with something innovative. Why can't I have control of everything on my display? Specifically labeled black point, white point, RGB adjustments is what we need. Well 'black point' is brightness, not sure about contrast. I mainly want a 'red point' option, or something to that extent. I want to manually tweak every little setting until it looks splendid. Surely it's not that hard, it's just that their drivers don't expose it to us.
