DigiTraveler GPS for PDAs $69.95 at Radio Shack B&M

I know that there is another thread on this unit but that thread listed a higher price.

My local Radio Shack has the DigiTraveler GPS for PDAs for $69.95. The normal price is $99.95 and that is still the price on the web site. The was a small sign next the units advertising the $69.95 price but it still rang up at the higher price at the register. The manager gave me the sale price and said they were getting new prices on stuff every day so their computer must not be up to date.

This GPS includes DeLorme XMap Handheld Street Atlas USA 2003 RSA software bundle for PDAs, swivel base with suction cup windshield mount, Owner's Manual on CD, and three 6-foot RJ11 to PDA cables (Compaq iPAQ and Palm).

It looks like those are RS232 serial adapter cables, not RJ11

That picture shows the destop adapter, the gps end is rj11, the other end has the rs232, PDA whatever.

This is a good deal, will be stopping by RS tomorrow.

no mistake, that is the price. My RS had a sign clearly marked $69. Now if I can get this thing to work with my @amigo

I went to Radio Shack, but it was ringing up for $99.99 only !!!! Not 69.xx ! It was in NYC, and I picked up the last one on display.

I tried to explain it to the sales person there, but he insisted that that is the price ! But he also said that if the price 'drops' in next 30 days, I'll get the difference back.

Now what should I do... ? How do I explain it to him and get my money back ?? Can I show him a reciept and get the difference back ?

Any help would be great.

I don't know what's up with RS. After the closest outlet to me refused to sell it for 69.99, I called corporate and gave them the url to this thread. Corporate basically told me that the people in this thread were lying and that there was no sale unless it was at a franchise. Two days later I score one of these things at a different RS and it was a corporate outlet. I think RS is not in touch with itself or something. The guy at the first store told me that these wouldn't be on sale in the comming month either. Wierd!

I don't think RadioShack realizes that they are dealing with some Power Users here ! And they have been thru' such excuses for along time.

And personally I don't think any of the forum members here were trying to fool/loot the RadioShack. RadioShack 'claims' they have nationwide pricing policy. And they were selling it for $30 less at not one, bu tat least 20 locations ! I think they should get their pants together !

The packages that I saw were different for the $99 units and the $69 units. The $69 units have a larger and rounder plastic packaging. The $99 units are smaller and more angular. I have not thouroughly examined the differences, but they were both DigiTraveler GPS for PDA's. Who knows?
