Dimension 4600 worth the $1071?

Dell's do offer some good basic office solutions, which are silent and good form factor. Hence high penetration of markets.

Although the performance PCs may leave you lacking in comparison.

Anyway, what spec is this 4600 for $1071 ?

I'm looking at a Dell Dimension 4600 now, since I have neither the time nor the know-how to build a computer on my own, and I like Dell. Here's my specs, his might be similar, but then again, I'm using Dell Canada so they might differ a lot:

Pentium 4 Processor, 2.8 GHz, 800FSB
Windows XP Home
512 MB Dual Channel DDR SDRAM at 400MHz
128 MB DDR ATI RADEON 9800 PRO
80GB HD
8x DVD+RW and 16X DVD-ROM
Sound Blaster Audigy 2

And some other extras like Office 2003, CD/DVD burning stuff, etc.

No local PC stores nearby? You'll most likely get a better deal on them , plus a nearby store will be of more benefit if you run into problems. But please do check out the store first!

BTW, 19"CRT vs. 17" LCD is a no-brainer. In fact, a good 17" CRT blows away a 19" LCD.
