Yeah I noticed the six pin connector on the PS... but I also had an extra four pin molex coming off the dvd drive... so I split the four pin molex into 2 four pins, and then connected both of those four pins back into the PCI-express connector which I then connected into my x1900xt...

Like i said, no problems whatsoever....

now..i'll be saving up for 2 gig of ram, wireless card and a nice vid card that plays 1600x1200. I might guess that i'll grab 7900 gt in the near future. Hopefully the new system will play well..

although i'm fine with the current rig i have lol

In another topic...I checked tom's CPU chart comparison with a sempron 3100+ vs pentium 4 630. And I'm surprised the difference in performance (game wise) is slightly different. For sure, in encoding is a whole different story lol. I'm going to use this rig for some Photochopping later on

Set up my MIL's 5150 just in time for her old PC to die. I was going to move the old PATA HD over to the 5150 system (SATA) but don't have mobo info. Can I use the flat ribbon cable attached to the shroud for the old PATA drive? How do I get power to it? The connectors are not what Im used to!

You're going to have to repalce the Dell cable with a 2 device ATA cable. Also, you're going to need mounting brackets to put it in the 5" bay. There is one extra molex connector right by the DVD drive.

I took the hard drive and ram from one and placed it in the other, and gave it to my sister as a birthday present. I kept the other and put a Raptor 150, 7600GS (dual dual-link dvi), 2gb memory, gigabit ethernet, and a Pentium D in it (the 630 goes in my file server), and am picking up a 3007FPW next week. I'll either use the 2007 as a 2nd here or take it to work to replace the ol' bubble CRT.

I just bought Sony dualcore ony VAIO VGC-RC110G Intel PD 830 3GHz (Dual-Core) / 1GB DDR2 / 250GB SATA / Dual-Layer DVD±RW / DVD-ROM / ATI X300 /TV Tuner / Gigabit LAN / Liquid Cooling / Windows Media Center 2005 / Desktop PC for about $800 which is slightly used, but very quiet.

I am into quiet computing, but this 20in LCD that caught my attention.

This computer is quiet. I don't know the decible level but I can't hear it running when I have my room fan on.


I could use some help... I wiped XP Home off and installed Windows 2003 Server. The problem is... the Dell disk and website have ZERO drivers for 2003 for this system. Anyone know which drivers are needed?

Yes, that is correct. Unfortunately, Dell puts them in the same support link so there are no 2003 drivers for the E510 either.
