This project just won't cut it for me since it's main thing is bandwidth. At work, bandwidth is a precious commodity (cpu cycles are not) and at home, bandwidth is important to me as a gamer, I don't need any lag while playing.....that leaves me out.

BadThad, when I look at the TaskManager Networking page, DIMES is making virtually no impact on my available bandwidth. Have you actually tried DIMES and found it caused lagging or just expecting the worst? If you have DSL or Cable internet, I don't think you'll notice. If you have T1 or fractional, then it will not be noticeable.

A more real concern when gaming is the amount of memory the Javascripts can tie up. Though, I've been running Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5.1 with DIMES and DPAD without problem or noticeable lag. PPro is a very memory intensive program.

Well, remember I have 6 systems running DC projects 24x7. So while I'm gaming, I'd still have 5 systems on line. Besides, the project doesn't fit my current DC philosophy of trying to find drugs/cures for the aliments of mankind.

My hint btw was that you could run it on the gaming rig when your not gaming ,though I can quite understand you not wanting to stop & restart clients on 6 rigs each time you want to game , 1 wouldn't be too bad
However if Dimes isn't to your taste then that's different ,thanks for checking it out anyway

I downloaded and installed the client. It appears it has a problem with my router. I will haveto work on this in the morning as I don't have the patience for it now. When I get that done, I'll have to make sure it works with my firewall (Kerio Personal).

Is there a way to run this project completely hidden? I have about 25 different machines in various locations that I could install it on if I can make it so the users have no way to see it is there. Bandwidth is not an issue (and I can always tweak the intervals if it becomes one) but programs running visibly - even just an icon in the system tray - won't work. It's OK if the program is listed in Task Manager but it can't be visible on the normal Windows desktop/taskbar. A distributed installation like the one Find-a-Drug used would be great as well, but not really a requirement.
