Direct TV no land line

How do you get Direct TV if you don't have a land line? We use all Cell Phones in our house.

I know several people that have directv without a land line.
They have no access to the ppv but other than that it works as normal.

As long as you don't want to have any Pay Per View or use the DVR advanced interactive features, you're just receiving from the satellite like normal.

Just read Direct TV's Terms and Conditions and it says that you have the have a land phone line for PPV and to "activate the receiver".

They do not say anything about VOIP, but I plan to continue to use Comcast internet sevice so I don't see why a VOIP connection wouldn't work.

I am also checking out Dish Network and they do not seem to have a land phone line requirement.

Dish network will tell you they require a landline as well.
But its really not necessary.
I've used both for years and know of many other people who never connected the phone line.

Landline isn't required. Especially with the new receivers as they don't have to dial-out to receive updates or activate anything. The only thing you need a landline for now is PPV as others have mentioned.

I have a friend with three DirecTV receivers and no landline. I recently activated two of the HR20 HD DVRs without them being hooked up to the telephone line.

Is a land line required for the Sports Pack? I thought I heard that it was. If not, that would be great.

I have DTV, and it has never been hooked up to a land line even during "Professional" installation. The installer didn't even mention it.

Don't think so, I have Sunday Ticket + Superfan as well.

Im not sure about Direct TV, but dish will charge you $5/month if you arnt hooked up to a phone line.

DirecTV will not charge you if you are not hooked up to a phone line.
