So I have been a user of Sling but have been highly disappointed in their overall UI and service. I signed up this morning to try it out... let's see how this goes. I'll update as I notice things.

Issues so far:
  • Missing local channels on Guide for streaming devices. It shows on PC. *Update his is intended.
  • No DVR
  • On Demand Content is not up to date.
  • No SSO login to other networks streaming apps.
  • Not seeing 5.1 audio /w my Fire TV.
Pros:
  • Pretty good interface, fast and easy.
  • Stream Quality seems great, usually no issues getting 1080P.
  • Price $35
  • Selection
Update: Found my deal breaker... no locals /w streaming devices. Purely web only.

Update: Updated my Pro/Con list.

Just read up on this, a little confused though as it seems to be almost exactly PS Vue but with less features. I'd be interested to hear the perks of this service over PS Vue, since that's the one I used to use.

You'd be exempt from the cap on an AT&T service?

LeEco who owns Vizio TV has now entered the US with two high end smart phones for competitive prices under $250 and under $400, for more info see here

http://www.anandtech.com/show/10770/leeco-enters-us-with-lepro3-les3-tvs

Note those phones have been even cheaper by $100 or more due than the anandtech listed price due to flash sales on LeEco's website during specific times where you get an instant rebate.

Well LeEco is now partnering with AT&T and doing a 3 month free trial of DirecTV Now if you buy the S3 or Pro3 phones, between Dec 1 and Jan 5. They are also doing special on specific LeEco tvs giving 3, 6 or 12 months free of DirecTV Now.

I think you mistook the reply box for google
Lol.

I'm going to cancel already. Can't watch locals on my Roku. And it kept stopping tonight while watching vikings. I ended up just using sling to watch it.

That was my biggest issue with Vue too. I'm not sure what the licensing is like that allows them to stream local stations in large cities, but not everywhere. And CBS just refuses to play ball with anyone, so that sucks. If it wasn't for football it wouldn't matter as much.

I'm not sure about the rest of you guys, but cord cutting proved to be a fad in my house. I was free for a couple years but got fed up and got the Comcast X1 system recently. Even though I'm paying a bit more, it sure is a nice setup. I have no doubt that the streaming services with continue to grow and improve, but there's still enough drawbacks for me to go back to something that is simple and reliable

It by no means has been a deal breaker so far for me. I cut the cord and will stay cut. But I have a TIVO Roamio OTA for locals as needed. The downside is my Tivo Stream busted. The only issue I had was college football but that's covered either by PS Vue or Sling and now DirectTV Now.

I did the 3 month promo w/ Apple TV. I really like it so far, but the website doesn't stream for me on any of my PC's (at home and work!). I've been watching on my phone and tablet.

I've had Sling in the past, but I've had connection issues.

I've decided to go with none of them. Once again the media companies just make life difficult which will keep piracy up.

Vue and sling both don't offer 5.1. Directv Now does but comcast wants to be dicks and restrict NBC from all streaming devices.

Screw em all I'll stay with true cord cutting I'm good without the joke TV has become.

Well, all you people that stuck it out got rewarded.

They fixed most of the glitches, and now they're giving everyone free HBO for a year to stick it out. It pays to have patience

Nobody can come close to 100 channels for $35/month, and that price is grandfathered in.

I dunno... that goes back to cable, do we need 100 channels? I'd rather pay $20 for a handful of channels I use.

Depends what you want. Sling TV has a $20 package. The $35 for 100 channels was a limited offer. It's now $60 for that 100 channel pack.

Just cancelled a week ago. Since I cut the cord, I have discovered that we just didn't have that much "need" for broadcast television. The only thing we really needed was a DVR and it still doesn't have it. I don't see how/why anyone would subscribe to a service without DVR functionality.

Cut the cord Sunday and went with Vue for the DVR. DTN has none, Sling is rolling it out with an extra fee and fairly limited storage space.

Yeah, that's what I did a few Saturdays ago before the season premier of the Walking Dead (it's my wife's one vice). It airs at 7pm our time and there's no way we would be able to make that for live viewing. I had the grandfathered $35 package with DTV Now but after using it for two months I realized that I only needed about 4 channels at all so despite it being a great value it was still overpriced for what I needed.

I liked the guide on DTV Now but everything else about Vue has been at least as good or better.
