Good question. I'm not sure if they are going to be part of the HD channels that are launched this year or not.

Seems from ADs that all MLB post-season games will be on TBS, great marketing scheme for DTV. Although IDK what channel the World Series is going to be on however.

holy sheeeeet. I've never seen satellite HD though, is the compression noticeable to a good eye on a good screen? (Compared to cable)

Yes. DTV HD is really that bad, especially when going from a high-quality cable connection, or FIOS.

No. The older MPEG-2 channels weren't the best quality but the new MPEG-4 channels look fantastic. All local HD channels and all the new HD channels use MPEG-4.

I have Dish SD right now and was planning to upgrade to Dish HD whenver I get my new plasma. However, I just saw today that DirectTV is supposed to have my local HD channels released by the end of the year (Dish doesn't have them). That along with all the new HD channels might have me switching over to DirectTV. I'll probably wait until the end of the year to see how things play out before making the final decision.
