This was voted a "horrible deal" on FW, but IMO pretty decent. Here's a cut and paste of my post since it clarifies a couple of things about outpost's description (some errors):

This ECS laptop is a pretty good deal, much better than the similarly priced VIA 1.2GHz with Linspire at Wal-Mart.

Some of outpost's specs are wrong: Celeron 1.8GHz is a 400MHz FSB processor, for example. And it doesn't support DDR400 memory. The rest of the specs look right.

This might be a price mistake at outpost. The barebones for this laptop (no CPU, memory or hard drive) usually sells for that price.

I've seen this at Fry's and the quality of these ECS-built laptops are getting much better. I'd rather have a Dell refurb, but these look OK.
