Don't think of it as $102,499.99, instead imagine it as ONLY $2847.46 a month.

I have been using this printer for over 2 years now. Paper feeding problems did happen a few times over the years, but nothing major to cause real problems. Over all it is an awsome printer, especially consider I spent $300 2 years ago for it. And now it is only $130.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

I caved-in and ended up buying the darn thing. Already have a great HP 2100 printer, but with the toner cartridges running around $80 themselves, I thought I might as well spend around $130 and get a brand-new printer with a toner cartridge.

Definitely a great deal. Kudos to those who tracked down this deal and posted it.

I ordered two of these for a law office I consult, and they were the two worst pieces of sheet I've ever seen. Of course, they had to do an enormous amount of work in the office. Unfortunately they just don't handle like a good old HP 4L workhorse.

Come on guys. Companies don't do this kind of 'Deal of the Day' cr@p to surprise you and make your day happy. There's a d@mn good reason this printer is marked down.

Whoa! Hold the phone! $102,499.99 at e-Cost? Maybe I'll buy a couple and sell them on e-Lame for a low low price of $50,000.00.

I love the art of drunken data entry.

Again, a $150 laser printer isn't for a business. This printer should be more than adequate for home users.

Anyone know if these are new or refurbs? Buy.com page doesn't say they're refurbs (don't they usually say if they are?), so I assume they're new.

I brought two of them (including extra toner) back when VA deal is good. Sold one on eB and kept one for myself. I remember there was a $50 rebate on this printer and end up paying for $150 each. This NEC Superscript printer seems to have paper feed problem. I kept it for two month and got rid of it. I get myself a HP Laserject 4000 with OD clearance deal for $325.

If you are really considering keeping it, you might end up with a lot of paper jam problems. But think about good side, this printer accept old 72pin memory. You can easily upgrade to 18MB. I remember it alreay have 2MB build in, but you can add additional 16MB to get yourself 18MB. On the manual says you can only up to 16MB, it's misprint. Good luck!!

Anyone know if the "interface upgrade kit" for this printer is something special, or is it just like a regular NIC, i.e. can you get something similar for under the $220+sh that buy.com wants for it?

One more tip on this printer....I found that the output paper was somewhat curled. I just turned the input paper upside down and it seems to be better.

Maybe like the up and down arrows that copy paper uses.

Manual for this printer says it will use only Full Page Mode RAM. Does this mean that the EDO SIMMs I have laying around are useless for this printer?

Got it today and just set it up. One thing I just found is if I print a envelope by manual feed and have paper in the multipurpose tray at the same time, it will jam 50% chance. And it does look curled. Ride525, what do you mean by put the paper upside down?

I was afraid that might not be clear.....

If the paper comes out curled, try flipping it upside down.....
This means the surface of the paper, not the edges....

So that the surface that was face up (looking upward at the ceiling) is now face down (looking at the floor).

Hope this makes it easier to understand

Why would you pay $67 for an upgrade when supposedly you can use "industry-standard" SIMMs in the thing? Those surely don't run that much! By the way, anyone tried upgrading the RAM yet? Like I asked before, the manual says FPM only, but I'm wondering if EDO would work too.
