disabling all isa style devices on mobo...

hey everyone

after reading the many posts made about the new legacy free abit boards coming out soon im wondering about disabling all the isa style devices on my mobo (serial, parallel etc) and im just wondering if its possible to disable the ps2 mouse and keyboard ports (im already using a usb mouse and kbd). Im using a soltek sl75drv4 and cant find any option in the bios for it...

Also is there any advantage to be had from doing this? im guessing ill free up some irqs or am i likely to run into more problems than its actually worth diabling them for?

You can disable the individual legacy devises in device manager (control panel -> system). Just right click on the item, click properties. There should be a option "Disable in Hardware profile" or something like that. You shouldn't matter if you have mouse port open when using a USB mouse. Winblows will find it. I really don't see any advantages over disabling such devices. Only if you were having a conflict. I would like to hear what other say!!!
