Check your motherboard bios. I'm sure there is capability of enabling and disabling LPT, serial ports, usb, etc. You'll just have to look around.
If I were you I would check the motherboard bios first to see if the LPT is enabled.
When you find the lpt you'll have at least 4 options: disable, spp, epp, ecp. some motherboards have ecp 1.7 and ecp 1.9. I've been told that ECP 1.9 is the fastest so that's what I set mine to if it's available. If after you try thge different bios settings and you still don't have lpt, just disable it in your bios and use the lpt on the ISA card.
FYI, I think that a long time ago when people wanted a scanner and a printer on the same machine, they sometimes had to add an LPT port via the ISA bus and both were functional. This was possible on 486 and pentium boards. DOn't know if this capability existed when PII came around.
