Disabling Speedstep

Hey guys,

Need to disable speedstep. Its about time to do some OC'ing again, and i already went into BIOS and disabled it, but for some reason my multiplier keeps throttling.

Tried doin some searchin for software to shut it down but all of the software is from years ago, as if nobody has had this problem in the last 3 years.

Any suggestions?

I'm noticing my 2600K throttling too. The multiplier keeps switching between 16 and 43.

Check your bios for C1E and the other C states and disable them. Also try ocing with them on a lot of times you can get a stable oc and save power.

I think that's OK. If your CPU is idle, why do you want it running at 43x? Let it rest!
