Disabling thermistor on 'smart fans'

I remember reading an article way back when, where a small mod could make a thermistor fan run at full power all the time and disable the temp readings. Anyone know how or have a link to how to do it? I am thinking of picking up some silenx fans for my new shuttle coming in and want to do this mod, thanks.

Cut the thermistor off and insulate the 2 wires so they don't touch.

It's the other way around. Thermistor resistance drops as the temp increases, so shorting the leads together will give max rpm...

I wouldn't spend the extra for the silenx fans if you don't want the temp-control feature- there are several good quiet fans available for a lot less, Enermax and others even offer some with manual adjustments.
