Disabling users for a alotted time

I hold a LAN party every couple of months and after about 3am I tell everyone to go asleep. (Parents complain if they stay up all night.)

Well, I go in the computer room at about 3:30am and there's someone playing on one of the computers I have.

I have WinXP on the computers. Yeah, I know I could just put a password on the accts or even a startup password, but usually I sleep in a couple hours more than the other guys. Is there ANY WAY to disable the accounts until 7am or so? An app maybe? Let me know.

You'd have to set up a domain controller and then accounts for everyone to use. Then it's a small thing to restrict log-in times to certian times. OF course you have to disable local access to all the computers, and only allow authentification via the network.


Probably a easier thing to do if it's only on occasion that you throw the party is to disable the switches/routers. Like lock up the power adapters in your bedroom closet or something like that. They would still have access to their individual computers, but no network/filesharing/gaming/internet access.

1: turn off mains switch in basement, lock basement
2: set all blinking 12:00 clocks in yer hous back okay

alternatively, confisqate all power cords

I dont really see a software solution, since thet would require a client server structure, and I dont think many will install willingly a control software on their PC, for 16 ppls you got 16 times the configuration hassle, etc.

check to see if your router has that functionality

The only way I can see is to set password protection on your computers, have your software firewall set to deny all traffic.
