Yeah thats what I thought. I just checked the site again and sure enough there IS NO CLUB TO JOIN!!! My friends have always ordered tech books from there.

I think the other dude was on crack that said it was a club.

I've been using them for years. You can usually get your tech books with 2-day shipping for less than the book alone at Amazon/BN/Borders/etc...

It's a regular bookstore that specializes in tech books. Shipping costs are very reasonable. Only problem is that they don't seem to stock a whole lot of their inventory (they admit so too). But if you find the book you're looking for, you can't beat the price anywhere else.

and the shipping charge is less than amazon, bn, borders, fatbrain.

Probably no, on the coupons thing. Their prices are so reasonable, that they really don't need to run promos like that to drum up business. Another really good site to get O'Reily books is Cheapbytes.com - they also sell linux distro's dirt cheap. They actually sell cdr's of some of the older distrobutions for $0 - $1 (probably + shipping).

Bump for an awesome tech book store. I got my books at least 35-40% off the retail price. To think i was thinking of just buying these same books from my local barnes and nobles. Shipping is VERY reasonable. I wholeheartedly reccomend these guys.

By technical you must mean computer-related. I found very few books for any of my Mech. Engineering classes ... in fact there are only 16 "Engineering" books at all. Most of which can be had for cheaper at bn or amazon.co.uk If you all are getting good deals then you'll hear no complaints about this site from me but I thought I'd give some advice for the rest of the folks. Check www.addall.com for a pretty comnplete search of several sites. It even includes coupons when they're available. Good Luck fighting the campus bookstore! Peace.

I've had good success at half.com (I think its part of egay)

New and used books sold mainly by individuals, half.com acts as a middle man.

Shipping $2.25 per book, can usually find a coupon for 1st book.

They dont have as much as bookpool, ya just havta kinda be there when someone posts a book for sale.

Sign up on wish list and they email ya when the book comes up for sale.

You can sell books too, set yout own price.

A bumpity for the bookpool site. The "BEST" place to buy tech books. For those that like to skim or look over a book before you buy..I always go to the local B&N or Crown, look it over and then order it from bookpool. I got all my MCSE books there and some Unix ones as well. It saved me bunches.
