Although, when I got a flat last fall, appart of the tire monitor system in the car, you couldn't tell you had a flat.
Goodyear F1-GS were the best performance tires I ever had by the way.

Your lease actually says you have to return the car with the same model tire you leased it with?

I'm glad I pay $1500 dollars for alot more rubber, at least each of my tires weigh closer to 100lbs.

Yeah, eff that, I'm calling absolute and total shens on that one.

I see a lot of people putting up for sale their used OEM tires with enough tread to pass inspection for cheap. It saves money for the buyer and gives the seller something for their nearly used tires.

I ended up buying a different set of tires for my lease return. Had I known what I know now, I would have just bought a used set. It sucks that I returned a leased car with a set of wheels with only 3K miles on them but I guess that's the cost of leasing.

SOP for BMW. I took my OEMs off shortly after getting the car. No reason to spend tons on crappy Contis.

you can't just flip them around 180, since there is an inside and outside side to the tires.

There is NO separate right and left version. If you had bothered to read the first reply to this thread, you'd know that.

Asymmetrical tires are not directional. They have an "inside" and an "outside" edge, but they do not come in separate "left" and "right" versions. The "right" side tires are the same as the "left" side tires, they are simply mounted in the opposite direction. It's not the tire shop's fault that you cannot understand how asymmetrical tires work.

What you need to do is take the tire off of the wheel, flip just the tire, not the wheel 180 degrees and put the tire back on the wheel. Presto, problem fixed.

ideally you would take them off with 4/32" left so you can return with them.

i almost got hit with this too, but I actually ended up buying my lease out at the end. got a massive reduction in the residual, lower than manheim auction price on the car.

This reminds me of the time I got a whole box of nails with the nail head on the wrong end of the nail. Darn that Home Depot (shaking my fist)

I put up a set of tires for sale on Craigslist for $1K and someone asked me if I would take their beat up old car for the tires.

The RE050RFT isn't a cheap tyre. Got my dealer to replace one on our new 1 series and they were talking about £180 for the 245x18" rear. The dealer paid as it was a slow puncture at the point of sale. WMK!
