Took the family to Legoland in San Diego last weekend. They have a large tent set up outside the front gate to the park. The tent is filled with various overstock legos for sale at significantly discounted prices (approx 40% retail).
They had several boxed sets available (Creator, Exoforce, Batman, Harry Potter, Lego Sports, Racers, Duplos to name a few - sorry, no Star Wars). The main attraction, however, consisted of extra pieces from various sets. They had oversized plastic ziplock bags (slightly larger than the size of a Freezer Ziplock bag) that they allowed customers to fill with *any* of these loose pieces. Customers were allowed to fill the bags as full as they wanted so long as the bag could still be zipped. Bags full of regular Legos were $19.99, and bags full of Duplos were $5.99. The loose pieces were from all different types of sets, including Star Wars, Knights Kingdom, Bionicle, etc. There were also some Lego-branded accessories for sale (costumes, party favors, playsets, etc.).
The best deals to be found on Legos are generally not more than 20% off retail, so this is a pretty good deal. Naturally, it's a big YMMV as the stock is rotated every day or two, and I don't know how long they'll even continue the Tent Sale. Obviously, this is only a hot deal if you're already planning on going to Legoland as parking costs $10.
