Dish network smart cards

Hey guys.. i was wondering if i could get some help. I have ha a dish network system for over 2 years now probably.
And the receiver is not one of these new models, but im wondering if there is a way to get the channels unlocked. B/c i know
the guys on the hot deals forum were discussing it in one of the dish network deal posts.
I'm confused as to how to unlock the channels.. and also exactly what hardware i need to do it? Could someone please help me out. Thanks for the input!

By unlocked do you mean you want to pirate the signal or remove a parental lock?

Yeah it sounds like you want to pirate channels and that want go over to well here, If you want to unlock the parental lock then that is another story.

Either way this may not be the best place to ask. The first one can get you banned the second laughed at by some. If it is the second, DirecTV (different I know, but it may be similar) makes you call them and give them some information to unlock it. I hated those calls

While illegal, what you are referring to is acquiring a 'test' card. The cards are programmed with the same code as the cards that their service people use for testing. The card basically unlocks everything including pay-per-view. You usually pay > $200 for these cards and they usually only work for 2-3 months until DirecTV or Dish zaps them. You then have to send it back to the pirates and pay another $200 or so to have it reprogrammed, then in 2-3 months you have to send it back... well, you get the picture. Not worth it in my opinion.
