Dish Network VIP722 Question

How do I change which tuner will record a show? I've tried enabling/disabling Record Plus and changing the tuner it's set to, but it always wants to record with tuner 1. I want to set it to tuner 2, but don't see an option for this when setting up a timer.

It shouldn't make a difference which tuner it's using to record, the numbers are just arbitrary. If you're watching one program on a tuner it'll automatically use the tuner that you're not watching to record your program in the background.

(unless you are using it in 2-TV mode, are you?)

Yes, I'm in dual mode. I want to force recordings to the 2nd tuner, since I watch TV in that room much less frequently.

Yes, I'm in dual mode. I want to force recordings to the 2nd tuner, since I watch TV in that room much less frequently.

In that case, when you click the record button and the record dialog pops up, hit the options button. One of the choices should be whether it should record on TV1 or TV2.

Well mine seems to always be recording on tuner 2 so I'm sure there's a way my 3 year old figured out. I'm sure it's somewhere in the timers section.

on our 622, when we press the record button, on the recording options screen, we get an option for TV1 or TV2 and I select it accordingly. Maybe you can borrow HeroOfPellinor's 3 year old to get it figured out ?
