1) Poor picture is likely due to a botched install or defective equipment. Did you have them at least try to fix it prior to canceling the service?
2) $200 early termination fee was in the contract you signed.
3) Just because they lost track of your returned equipment does not mean they launder money. :roll:

When I lived back at home ours would get all crappy when it rained. Other than that it worked fine. I still vastly prefer digital cable. In fact, I will never personally buy a dish, ever.

my parents have had dish for several years now. they had problems when it rained too, like signal cutting out. they complained and dish sent a tech out and replaced the receiver. not sure if he touched the dish too but now they don't have any problems at all.

I have had Dish for 10+ years...the signal has gone out probably 10 times in the duration. When I had cable, it would go out at LEAST once a month.

Judging from your little rant it sounds like they refunded the 400+ for the equipment so you are stuck with the 200 for early termination which is your own fault. In other words you are wrong to be mad at anyone but yourself.

I'm not backing up Dishnetwork, but you could have at least given them a chance to fix the signal before you cancelled. You would have saved $200 plus all the other hassle you have been going through.

I'm willing to bet that if they couldn't fix the signal, you PROBABLY could have avoided the early termination fee. It's not your fault the signal was bad.

They weren't giving you a bad signal on purpose, why would you not call out a tech?

We had problems with the 105 SuperDish, and it was finally replaced with a Dish 500 when our area quit using the SuperDish. We get less signal loss in the rain with the 500.

The customer service with Dish is hit and miss. I've had a few good calls and some bad ones. If you don't get an answer you like then call back, chances are they will tell you something different. In the 3 years we have had the service the SuperDish was worked on twice because of bad LNBs (The 119 and the 110 went out), and we had to replace two recievers (three if you count the bad one they sent as a replacement). Glad we had their $6 a month warranty.

We are moving next year and I'm not sure we will keep Dish. Cable companies are pretty bad in my area though, so who knows. I've been looking into DirecTV. They have less HD channels, but they do have HD locals for my area. Even the cable company doesn't carry all the HD locals here.

The quality was probably due to the installation. My brother in law has dish and everytime a cloud passes over he losses the signal. I tell him he needs to get his dish realigned... but he just keeps mumbling about how bad dish network is.

Only problem i have with dish is when its full bloom spring and the tree blocking access to the southern ski blows in the wind and i get some pixels every once in awhile. I have 108 signal strength every other time except full bloom in spring.
