It's beyond streaks. Its just baaad white marks. We may have hard water, but we've tried everything we can to fix it. *shrugs*

We are moving though, so maybe the new place the water will be better too though.

Is it worth replacing if you're moving soon?

I purchased a Jenn-Air stainless inside and outside. We have very hard water (the bottom of the bathtub turns orange after a couple weeks) The dishes come out spotless; we use a rinse aid with them. I'm not sure how quiet the thing is, because lifetime, I don't have many to compare it to. It's quieter than the one we had in our last home. But, that doesn't matter - we certainly can't hear it in the bedroom, and it has a delay option for when the dishes are washed.

What I particularly like though: the top rack has its own little spinning spraying thing that plugs into the back of the dishwasher when the rack is pushed in. That makes how clean those dishes get completely independent of what you put in the bottom rack.

Oh, and OP: find the filters on your dishwasher. You might have to take a screw or two out. Our tenants had a problem with dishes not coming clean. Turns out, there were a few little pieces of plastic wrap that clogged most of the filter off.

Also, try a rinse aid with the dishwasher, and get some GOOD dishwasher detergent. A lot of those cheaper brands are a huge waste of money. I recommend those little pods (Cascade). I probably have some of the hardest water of the members on the forum - my bathtub is noticeably orange within days of being cleaned with rust remover, etc. But, (and I just glanced to verify), I'm out of rinse aid, yet my glasses are completely spot free.

I got this Whirlpool (normally for 450-500) for $320 I believe (discounts etc) from Best Buy. They happened to have it on sale the week of my purchase. Actually it was $360 on sale and when I got to the store they marked it $320.....I didn't complain.

It gets pretty good ratings that are comparable with Samsung/Bosch 500-750 model and has done a great job so far.

PS. Stay away from kenmoore. Kenmoore = bunch of random manufacturer parts/you never know what you will get.

No built in hard food disposer, you will need to pre-rinse everything before washing, kind of a pain. OP is there a "scratch-n-dent" place around you? I got a GE Triton for $300 less than what BB had it for there was a tiny "1/4 inch crack on the bottom of the front panel, can't even see it. At scratch-n-dent it's a huge YMMV situation, I saw some that looked like they fell of a truck and others (like mine) that had minor blemishes. All of them came with a full factory warranty though.

We don't put food in the dishwasher anyways....and we don't have food disposer mounted under the sink either (so no big deal here).

Remember less is more. More crap/options you have, less reliable your appliance becomes.

I would tend to agree with that statement, but it is a nice feature to have, I didn't look for it with the dishwasher I have, it was just part of it's features. You defiantly want more than a one spray arm model though, I lived in an apt. that had a single-armed model and it did a crappy job most of the time.
