My acer notebook TravelMate 723TX displays following error message during boot-up:
WARNING
ERROR
02B0: Diskette drive A error
WARNING
ERROR
Floppy Configuration Error - Device Disabled
Press <F1> to resume, <F2> to Setup
Is the floppy drive demaged or can I fix it?
I used Windows NT. Then I installed Windows 2000, because the notebook went crazy. All the desktop icons vanished, could not open files by doubleclick, no internet connection could be established, always "RPCSS.exe" errors and system was very slow.
After Windows 2000 installation, I got that error message. I scanned the notebook with Norton Antivirus 2001, AVG 6.0 and McAffee online scan. No virus was detected. Windows 2000 worked fine, except that the disk drive was disabled.
Then I used the recovery cd from Acer. Windows NT works fine right now, but disk drive is also disabled.
Any idea?
Thanks in advance!
