#hailcorporate I guess?
Many people don't have d+ The only way to access it is by paying additional money. How is that sunk cost at all? It's also $6.99, not $5. So we're up to $36.99 for a one time viewing for many.
For current subscribers D+ wasn't billed as a rental platform. It was supposed to be one price for their whole streaming library. This is changing the bargain. What's to stop them from monetizing 'premium' shows on the platform after this? I feels like this is a dangerous precedent.
As for my own equipment, more appropriately I'm not using THEIR equipment I suppose. They don't have to pay for real estate, employees, seats, AV equipment, etc. They are realizing a significant cost savings in delivery of the movie to me by me using my own equipment. I would expect to have some of that savings passed on .
