I bake it in a cast iron skillet in the oven. It is so tender and not messy at all. Best way to do it really.

325 degrees for about 25-30 minutes, flipping it over half way.

Of course you do. Do you eat that with your 6oz filet?

Garbage. I've picked up the habit from my mom for disposing of food into the garbage: put it in a plastic grocery bag (ones you get from Walmart or whereever) and take that out to the trash outside.

Myself, I would pour the melted fat on top of my compost pile if I wanted to dispose of it. I have done that in the past with unwanted cooking grease including that from beef.

But when I have this problem I accumulate the bacon renderings in a jar which I keep in the refrigerator. Occasionally, I like to use it in my cooking. I ran out sometime in the last year. I don't cook bacon much anymore. I like it, but it's not the most healthful food.

You put it in a freezeable container and now you have a tastier alternative to butter or oils when cooking things like eggs.

I bake bacon. That creats a pan of bacon grease, which I pour into a soup can.

When the can fills, how should I dispose of it?

Just sticking it in the garbage seems pretty messy.

Trying to think of a package that could the can short of like a Hefty bag.

Mix with bird seed in a low flat pan and leave outside for the birds. I use an 9"by9" cake pan in a boxed in platform with open sides and a roof to keep the rain out.

Fill dog's bowls with dog food. pour bacon grease on top. Wait 1 minute. serve.

They love it and its good for their coat.

Nobody should "bake" bacon.

oh yes. bacon baked in the oven does not shrink as much and tastes just as good or better. We bake bacon now and its so much easier and better.

get a couple texas sheet cake pans, layer the bacon in them, put them in the oven, 350 for about 12 minutes, flip them at 6 minutes or so.. boom, excellent bacon.

Baking bacon is a GREAT way to cook it. Comes out excellent and doesn't make a mess, it's superior to frying in every possible way. That being said, no real man throws out bacon fat or duck fat. You save the fat and re-use it when you need a little oil to cook something and want to add a little flavor. If you need to pan sear a piece of meat or sweat some onions, use bacon fat instead of vegetable oil or olive oil. You can even use it in place of lard, shortening or oil in baking. You have not lived until you've tried a dark chocolate dessert with bacon added, the flavors go well together. Bacon brownies or bacon/chocolate cupcakes are awesome.
