Disputing Final Grades

Has anyone ever disputed final grades and got it changed? In my EE design class, the syllabus clearly stated cut-offs for grades but, the professor did not use them to calculate final grades. Let's say a cut-off for a B is 70-70.9% and you get 75%. The professor ends up giving you a C. Is this worth disputing?

I think a professor should be allowed to make his grading scale easier than the university standard, but not harder. I would dispute it.

The rationale for disputing is that the grading scale was on the syllabus from the first day of class.

If the syllabus says the cut off for a by is 70 I would, though I first would just ask him what percent I had and see if he just made a mistake or is missing something that you had turned in. Also was there some kind of attendance policy, I know this is a shot in the dark since my EE design class never meet but that might be another reason you dropped a letter grae as well.

for a B? he's limited it to .9%?!?!? sure it's not 70 - 79? i'm not sure if i'd DISPUTE it, rather contact the prof

professors should be held to the syllabus they provided at the beginning of class. that was a school policy at my university. i would go to the professor first and ask him why your grade does not appear to be in-line with the syllabus.



why you're a EE and not a liberal arts major matters, i do not know.
