I honestly have no idea what trouble people seem to have with iTunes. I use it all the time as it saves me from having to download an update multiple times (once on my phone, once on my iPad). Before I got an iPad, I used to update on my phone and randomly sync the app updates to iTunes. Now, I've reversed that and download updates on my computer and randomly sync them to my phone/tablet. I even buy a lot of MP3s from Amazon, and I have no problem dealing with those. The Amazon MP3 Downloader adds them to my iTunes library for me.
I actually wish that I liked my Android tablet more, because I feel like I wasted the money on it. Other than the poor battery life with the Android OS, I think my biggest problem with it is the fact that I bought an ASUS Transformer tablet. Now, I really like the idea of the Transformer tablet, but I think the problem stems from the fact that Android still really isn't designed to run with a touchpad/keyboard, and it isn't as seamless as you are used to on a typical desktop OS. In other words, I think I would like my TF300 more if I stopped using the keyboard and treated it more like a tablet. Also, I would like it more if it automatically turned on when I opened it up like my iPad does. Apparently, the TF300 used to do it, but the feature in the Android settings doesn't appear to work properly anymore... at least that's what I read online, and it didn't work when I tried it.
