Personally, repurchasing the apps is probably not a big deal. Probably for all the deluxe apps that you want, $20 will probably get you anything you can dream of. My worry would be whether or not you'd be able to get the apps you want on the N10. As of now, Android tablet optimized apps are way behind. I say this only because it actually looks like you're an tablet app user vs someone who just consumes media via built in OS features.
Well right now I have a few iPod apps and I don't care much for them on the ipad. Rebuying isn't my big issue. Are the non optimized apps on android as bad as the ones on the ipad with iPod versions. Dammit them for not slapping a msd card slot.
I never thought I would be onboard with an android tablet. Android phone rocks, I'm getting there with the tablet.
Now get airplay and I'm set.
A person who I know wants to switch is pulling her hair out because she bought like 20+ movies and 10+ TV shows (plus countless songs) from iTunes store over the past couple years.
What are you expecting to gain with the Nexus 10?
The N7 is just good value. It doesn't increase your functionality if your bottleneck is the Android tablet app ecosystem. If you're ditching an iPad you should have good reasons to.No. non optimized apps on Android looks million times better than iPod apps on the iPad. That said, N10 user reviews are meh. Have you considered N7?
Nothing specific, maybe unity as I have an an android phone. Tbh, I don't need to "upgrade" I've grown more comfortable with an android tablet as I bout my wife a tablet 2. I guess my real issue is messing around with my touchpad and android, never felt complete.
Really?!?Stay with the iPad (this is from a happy Nexus 7 owner).
Isn't google releasing a music matching service which matches music you already owned (including itunes format) and then places a digital copy on the cloud. Wouldn't this ease the transition (not the video and tv shows though.)
Yeah, I'll likely never buy Movies or TV shows through a service just because it will be locked to one provider/platform. Until there is a universal platform that every company signs on to and provides all of their content, I'm not touching it.Movies and TV Shows... Doesn't matter where you bought them, if they are digital, they are locked down within an inch of their lives. Same with books. It is why I have been so hesitant to start buying TV shows on iTunes, the prices are usually reasonable, but the DRM is holding me back.
I am sort of in the same boat, I have had a iphone 4 for a few years and am pretty happy with it, except using Itunes, which I despise for the most part.
I bought a nexus 7 a few months ago and loved the form factor and using it but it is defintely a bit rough around the edges. however loved not having itunes and being able to access the file system without any BS program. However, the apps were not there, seemed to be a lack of games and alot of apps look weird and stretched out.
BUT I love the Android OS compared to IOS. Its much easier to tweak and customize, plus widgets are awesome.
I have an ipad 4 at home i just bought, still in the wrapping. I envison using a tablet for reading ebooks, surfing the web at home. Watching Tv and movies on the go and playing games. Having better apps is important and IOS games seem to be much better than Android ones.
Should I keep my ipad and just suck it up regarding IOS and Itunes?
