Dive Bars - Flesh Wound

I'm pretty sure he didn't think he would get slashed with a broken bottle like he did. And just because it was a dive bar doesn't mean it's automatically a dangerous place. Any hole in the wall local bar or pub's considered a dive bar. I've been to many dive bars and never so much as even seen 2 people argue loudly. If OP's friend story is true he was the victim of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, how's he stupid for getting caught in a situation like that?

Then maybe my definition of dive bar is what's causing my issue. The bars I consider dives are the ones that have specific groups attached to them, and are known for weekly fights.

IMHO their is a big difference between what someone would call a hole-in-the-wall type of place and a "dive". Most call the bars where you aren't sure if you'd make it back home in one piece a dive.

They are usually more conservative. Around here is MB's and a few non-turbo/GT 911's.

As far as the last donation link, I have been burned by this when donations were given and the 'patient' just reneged on the hospital and kept the cash.

At my hospital the docs drive quite a few M3's, one of them has a Tesla, and a ton of Porsches.

The M3 is pretty impressive though, a real player's car.

Sometimes it doesn't have to be a "shitty" local bar just to be considered a dive, nor does it have to be necessarily dangerous.

I love dive bars. They are most often to have that "saloon" feel to them, or classic pub atmosphere.

While the fights can be blamed on clientele, it's not like they are likely to be straight up thugs or trash getting rowdy every single night.

I've seen a few fights, and it's not something I'd consider difficult to be in the wrong place at the wrong time - shit sometimes goes flying, flying fists and whatnot can miss intended targets, and innocent bystanders get knocked around.
Getting a bottle could easily be any random person in the bar, even someone who went unnoticed.

Most often, dive bar fights are not regulars. They are friends or family of someone who does go to that bar from time to time, and all these people get riled up, and one of the non-regulars throws the shit at the fan.


Unless it's a dive bar in the middle of the ghetto, then everything is different...

Yeah, the M3 is a straight pimp ride, G. I like Lambos myself, particularly the ones with the fly leather and wood trim.

I find that usually Lamborghini men have more finesse around the ladies than the older men who drive Aston Martins. Luxury cars are my area of expertise, even though I don't own one currently.

A buddy on Facebook posted "I got smashed in the face from behind with a bottle. Five inch gash all the way through my cheek."

He was hanging out at a dive bar and was there at the wrong time. There was a fight and he got caught up in the cross fire.

Then he posted a pic of the damage....

Also a broken bottle isn't like a nice sharp knife. Wounds get a bit more jagged, you have to know that.

Personally the most important part of suturing for 'looks' is how the skin is met together.

The top part of the cheek looks like a nice straight and even line as can be.

In the end though, no one can really tell until it heals. It's pretty much a guarantee this dude will be scarred from this.

Also this looked like a shot right after surgery, so swelling, redness and all that jazz abounds.

Or, maybe, whoever stitched it back together did so with the thought that it was probably going to be grafted over anyway.

Its come together quite well in that second picture. Unless theres something wrong that we cant see I doubt that he'll need a graft. (unless some horrible, life threatening, flesh eating bug eats half his face) :sneaky:

Yikes, reminds of the time Kopitar of the LA Kings took a puck to the face (or was it a high stick), goes to the dressing room, gets like 50 stitches, comes back out and finishes the game.
