if you take the default companions, just make Jahad the 'go-to' crafter, he has an inherent +1/+1 for blacksmith/crafting, and then you'll probably find bracers or rings or something that adds +1 to them and keep them in his backpack, so you only need to update his crafting to 3/3 and you're good to go.

Good to know.

I'm also wondering if its worth maxing out skills like Witchcraft etc or should you stop putting points into them at a certain level?

My battlemage is 5/5/3 man-at-arms/witchcraft/pyro. I really like the witchcraft talents. Death punch is awesomely OP, especially when buffed, and the debuffs come in super handy at the start of fights before he can reach the enemies for melee. If I had to choose witchcraft on a true caster over the other schools, I'd probably think twice, but in this build it works great.

Problem with Divinity Sin is it throws you in the deep end so speak ,so its all trial and error with classes and learning curve etc....I don't mind that but don't want to start again from scratch so only options is to ask questions .

Yes Witchcraft I heard is awesome at higher levels, also virtually all my classes can summon monsters as well so that helps level the playing field when you are outnumbered.
I'm at level 9 now(almost 10) and virtually finished all of the first town so things should get interesting either harder or easier from now on.

The game reminds me of "The temple of Elemental Evil".
Anyway keep them answers coming for everybody playing the game.

Best reason to take skills upto 5 is that you get unlimited spells from that school. Its nice not to have to pick which spells you want on hand.

There are also talents that require level 5 on those skills. For example, having 5 on Air opens a talent you can get that makes you immune to stuns. Or 5 on Marksman reduces the cost of using ranged weapons by 1, etc.

I finished this game a couple of weeks ago, but once the new companions are patched in, I'm totally going to play it all over again. Loved it.

The description of "cavern of portals" can be so many places in this game.

I think the game is around 60-100 hours depending on how much of a completionist you are first time through going by the steam tracker.

Well I'm level 14 and this is the first place I would describe as the "cavern of portals" but let me be more precise without giving too many spoilers....

The cave where you need to go into portals in a certain order to enable you to reach the final room which is a library where the 2nd of the 4 hidden chests are.

There is a lever by the portal in that room and I have no idea what it does.

pretty far in now level 14. got to admit I have a little bit of "ummm what am I supposed to do or where I am I supposed to go now?" syndrome.

One place i didn't get far in is the mines. I ran into Death Knight and I dont have a way to beat him yet. Not sure if I have something in my huge pile of an inventory or didn't find something else yet...

That lever turns on the shortcut so you don't have to finish the puzzle again to get to the final room. Unfortunately, pulling that lever keeps you from being able to find the Were sheep that hides in the portal puzzle room.

Have you been to Hiberheim yet? If not, find a way into the witches cabin, so you can go there.

Assume you are talking about the room which you pick 1 of 3 spells. There is no lever there that I remember.

I am currently there too. You can use the Invicibility spell to wander around the mines to progress.

there's actually a book in the mines that tell you how to make invisibility potions (not that you need to make them, I already had like 4 in my inventory, you only really need like 2 I think). Also invisibility scrolls, or probably even smokescreen works, or if you have a character with high sneak, you might be able to do fine without them.

Just finished the game, 100 hours Loved it in the beginning, but sadly balance issues made the combat extremely too easy after about halfway through. When in the beginning combat was an exciting experience, later on it was just a time waster. Still, solid game, I'm giving it a 8/10.

The lever is right next to the portal, on the right side. It makes it so the center portal in the main hall transports you directly to that library. It also turns off all other portals in the puzzle.

That's too bad, but it seems to be a common issue with RPG's since they want to make them completable by those who skipped all the side quests and extra XP throughout the game. Maybe someone will make a difficulty mod.

I'm at level 14 now and it does seem my 2 handed melee character and 3 mages are over overpowered, when I first started the game it was harder fighting mobs, seems to get easier later in the game.

I lost my teleport pyramids when I placed one in areas I wanted to explore, even the one in first town had disappeared ,suddenly they are both back in my companions inventory, very weird so wonder if that is a bug?

Anyway still enjoying the game, probably get it finished by the time Risen 3 arrives.

I'll probably replay the game again later when then add the new companions in etc...

There is nothing wrong with making early releases available and wiping on the final release if there's any reason to.

Customers just need to understand how it works and decide if they want to play that early release in that situation.

It's better that they're available to those who want that, than not available because some customers have a problem with not buying it until release who don't want that.

I agree!

I know that recovering a pyramid when you're too far is how it's supposed to work (my guess is that 'too far' means when you move to another map?). Not sure if it's the same if you put both pyramids on the ground and leave the map.

This game is amazing. Beautiful graphics, great dialogue, amazing gameplay mechanics. It was hard at first, and it still is, but it gets easier with time. I have honestly fought some mobs that put me in positions where I was ready to load up my quicksave and reload the fight, but somehow I managed to pull through. Its fights like that, that make me want to keep playing. I mean the first city alone has so much to do and so much to explore that you can spend hours alone just messing around in the city without even pursuing quests. So far so good, cant wait to see what else this game has in store.

Beat it a couple days ago, and can't wait until the community starts releasing new, high level scenarios for me to use with my existing endgame saved characters. And new companions!
