Teleport causes crushing damage to both the poor sap getting teleported and the one getting someone dropped on them. I haven't looked but sometimes it doesn't cause damage to the second party and I think that may be because of a dice roll where they avoid it perhaps. Or maybe they just don't quite land in the correct area. But teleport is a highly effective spell since it not only does a decent amount of initial crushing damage but if dropped into a fire or poison it will cause additional per round damage. On top of that it can also knock them down.

Just checked-out some of the JP and Maggie gameplay on Youtube (character creation all the way through a co-op game with combat and stuff). Pretty good stuff if you want to see the game in action. Definitely will be buying...

Just hit level 18, probably 10-15 hours left to go (already 88 hours in).

Found a sweet axe for Madora that on the character sheet does 300-800 damage, and 20% burning chance. Dropped a tormented soul on it (crafting 5), and it has +2 str +2 dex +2 con and +1 Willpower.

Already planning on playing again with 2 lone wolf characters, and not picking any food and only crafting mats I'll use (I have 6 backpacks full of junk).

One thing I learned late is that you want 5 in crafting and blacksmithing. Doesn't have to be on the same character, but totally worth it. The tormented souls require 5 crafting and add +2 str and +2 dex, while blacksmithing can remove the movement penalty on heavy armor with an anvil, and increase damage with a whetstone (30% ish).

I am enjoying this game a lot more than I thought given my past failed attempts at starting Baldurs Gate. Are they very similar? BG couldnt hold my attention for some reason.

And where did you get your tormented soul?

You can get them from drops, chests, and merchants. Around level 15(?) I started keeping an eye out for them, from merchants, every time I leveled and stockpiled about 10 of them.

Big patch today. Another nice step in the right direction with dialogue and personalities. Ultimate I think " arguments with your whole party sort of like baldurs gate would be ideal. Engage in the rock paper scissors to win the argument and build the appropriate personality bonus on your protagonist.

Controlling 2 protagonist in sp mode is wonkey. I think simply put a second char is only a second protagonist in co-op.

Anyway....looks like a good patch.

Yes, but it seems that a lot of people didn't get it until today. I have my game set to 'update immediately' in steam settings and it didn't update until this morning.

EDIT: Also, I'm really excited to play tonight with the improved ability to read what the other playing is saying in dialogs with NPCs. We have been moving at a snails pace in town because we each have to stop and read out loud to each other the conversations because it is impossible to follow in the game log and does not give the players choices.

Me and my buddy have a side co op game going. We found the same problem trying to slog through the dialogue. We starting verbally narrating the dialogue over Skype. We had a couple drinks in us to boot but man it was funny. Try voicing the dialogue with a friend. It's really funny honestly. Especially with cheesy British accents. Try it. Lol.

It's the #1 selling game on steam. Honestly, when I bought the game I was kinda disgruntled about the price. After playing it (past the intro stuff and after you learn everything), I have zero regrets. The combat is addicting and the game itself has an addicting realistic aspect to it that makes you think. You can't just charge face first into battles. Like most tactics games, you need to pay attention to the terrain and stuff to give yourself an advantage during battle.

guess you were falling asleep when it was introduced, if I remember correctly it brought a popup and the little tab was shining with Vegas light arrows pointing at "Check this out!", well maybe not that much but it was pretty clear

I've only played single player, and I love it. I can't wait to get home from work every day to play

Damn, I wish I had known that. I pretty much negleted blacksmithing and didn't put a lot into crafting.

Oh well, always good to know for the next game.

Any tips for combat? In the battle before entering the robot tunnel I was level 4 and the environment didnt provide much help. Is kiting a normal tactic in these types of games?

I was level 4 on that too (think it was the last fight before I called it a night yesterday). For some reason the robot didn't do much that I could see. I mean it one-shotted 2 of the NPCs, and at one point spewed a fire AoE attack, but several rounds it just didn't do anything, I think it was slowed in its own pool of oil or something, so maybe that was it, use the oil barrel to slow it down. Oh and I think lightning attacks from your mage(s) do heavy damage on it.

I was referring to the battle outside the tunnel with 3 boars, 2 archers, 2 mages and a zombie or two. I let the spider summons tank, set the ground on fire and just kept circling until I had worn them out. Seems there should be a simpler way but I am new to this type of game.

oh, guess it depends on your party and what not. What I usually do when there are casters around is freeze them. Usually it takes a cast to rain by one of my characters and a cast to freeze by another, but if I remember it's raining in that battle already so I just freezed the caster. I sent the spider to the archers and the warrior companion charged towards the other caster, so that left my 'paladin' (cleric+one-handed) and my ranger to take care of the boars.
