DivX: play on HDTV?

What is the best way to play DivX on a home theater system? I'm guessing that the simplest method would be to hook up a laptop with tv-out. But are there any DVD players that can play DivX... perhaps by burning them into SVCD format? Any suggestions?

As of today, get a video card with good tv-out. All In Wondwe Radeon is perhaps the best choice, but any ATI card with TV-Out should do well. Matrox cards have good TV-out also.

Anyway, if you can wait, the next All In Wonder Radeon 8500 will be capable of component video out. If your TV has these inputs you should recieve the best quality that way then.

If you cannot wait, then get a card that has sv-video out then. ATI or Matrox are the best here.

there are already vga->component adapters out there...that would definitely be better than tv-out, which is effectively limited to non-hdtv ntsc style resolutions

Also, there are no Divx compatable standalone DVD players. At least not yet. There are rumors of one coming out of taiwan but I've heard those rumors before. Things may be changing with the new divx4 codec, which is a legal codec. (unlike divx3.11 which is an illegal hack of the microsoft mpeg4 codec.)
