Upon further investigation, you're correct. Forgive me, that was a long time ago.
Quake followed it within 6ish months. Duke3D looked good, but was on par with its' contemporaries. Here's a nifty video of the History of the FPS genre
Care to provide a link?I think I just read the same article. Dude's a stiff.I read a preview of it somewhere where the guy spent some time playing it.
Summary: Crass tedious humor, terrible animations, confused gameplay where it changes from platformer, to puzzle game, to action....overall the guy seems pretty negative. And that's the preview where they are normally polite.
