Do you guys believe than an adult (18+) who still lives at home with their parents, has any business in dating or not? Aside from giving your date the impression that you're irresponsible and unable to take care of yourself, it just seems like living at home and dating is such a terrible idea, it's kind of like saying that you're sitting back and getting comfortable when you're really suppose to be working to get off your ass and move out. What do you guys think?

I live at home, I work, & I do take part in the dating game. I do not see why this would be a big deal?

18? Not a problem. 28? Probably not, but best of luck if you think you can pull it off.

They can do whatever the fuck they want. They're probably not going to have a lot of luck if they're 25 and bringing ladies back to mum & dad's place, but I don't see any reason they shouldn't try if they want to.

The whole "Let's go back to my place" would be rather awkward when she finds out you live in your mom's basement...or your room is next to your mom's room.

BUT, there's still no reason that adults who sponge off their parents shouldn't be allowed to date...

Is this your way of asking if it's ok for you to date? while still living at home? at 30?

I don't think anyone really has any "business in dating," unless they're trying to buy a video card.

Yep, and as long as it's ok with the parents I don't see a problem with this.

If you aren't sure whether you should date or not, the answer is no. If you are sure you should be dating, the answer is yes, go date.

That's a sad outlook, though probably right.

yeah I think cutting it at 18 is a bit early. WTF does one know about the real world at 18 unless you were tossed out on the street at 16? You're fresh out of friggin HS with nothing to your name except maybe part-time job money. 18 = artificial number. Mid-to-late 20s is when you should be cutting the cord for sure. Generally speaking, people who volutarily leave at 18 set themselves up for a huge financial strain which retards everything else.

On the dating thing, if you're dating same-age people at 18-22, they are likely living with their parents too. Do they really care if you are?

Sure. Why not? My oldest son (23) dated while he was living at home (up until last weekend when he moved out).

Why is it that if a guy lives at home he has be be irresponsible and unable to take care of himself. Sometimes the exact opposite is true, saving money on rent, food, utilities sounds like a good plan to me. If given the opportunity I would live at home. If you have problems dating because you live with your parents, you will probably have problems dating if you lived alone.
