do any of you have Slysoft's Game Jackal Pro?

I was browsing the Slysoft site and found their Game Jackal Pro software which images your game from CD/DVD and then you can play without the CD/DVD as 'diskless' - which also boosts your load performance substantially... I've tried other items like this in the past - but never used SlySoft's version...

any recommendations? their software is 20% off till the end of the year!!!

Nonsense, games just use the disk for copy protection checking, they install to the HDD and load off that.

As for avioding having to swap disks, cracks work great for that and don't cost a dime.

Actually, Battlefield 2 loaded the maps from the disc. At LAN parties, I was always the first into the map due to my Alcohol 120% usage.

Alcohol 52% Free Edition allows you to rip and mount game images to play games without the cd. A big plus is that it is free if any of you are interested in an alternative to Game Jackal Pro.

Alcohol has an excellent forum as well if you ever have trouble getting it to work with a title (usually it just works).

Well the no-cd exe's arent for online use, punkbuster detects them.

No-cd mini-images work a lot better for online play. Use alcohol 52% or Daemon tools to mount em.

Alcohol 52%/Dameon Tools. Sometimes you have to throw a little YASU into the mix to get em working too.

I saw this thread when you posted and I had heard of Alcohol 52% (free), but never used it. Finally got around to installing it today (so I didn't have to bring 2-4 game discs home with me (Heroes of Might and Magic 3, Starcraft + Brood War, IceWind Dale 2)) - it's easy to use and works well.
