Do any of you here plan on curing your video game addiction?

The main problem everyone here has is denial. You just refuse to accept that gaming is mentally harmful to you and you try to pretend it's "just another hobby". It isn't. It's a short term dopamine fix, but all it does is cause you to become socially inept, you will have the emotional maturity of a child, you will become lazy, you will get easily irritated.

Again, the main problem is denial. Stop trying to pretend that PC or console isn't harming you, deep down you know it is, but you're so scared of losing that pitiful level of enjoyment you get from staring into a monitor that you refuse to accept the truth.

Nobody is asking you to become the life of the party, you can just replace your gaming habit with something more natural, like watering your garden and walking your dog, but get away from games because they're killing your brain.

I've never been addicted to anything before playing PC games. I could play 6 hours of Oblivion in one day, or 3-4 hours of battlefield, etc. Stopped playing altogether because I thought there were much better things to do with my time - pursue other hobbies, spend time with friends, pursue more physical fitness, cook more, etc. Do not regret it.

I really like to fish. I get grumpy if I can't wet a line on a regular basis. I semi-regularly fish as much 20 hours a week. I once spent almost 72 hours straight fishing and sleeping on the Ventura, CA pier. I hit the local lakes her in Idaho for trout, bass, perch and whatever else it biting 2-3 days per week during fishing season. I'm probably going to give ice fishing a go for the first time once the lakes freeze over enough. I just can't get enough of the thrill of a tight line and the pleasure and relaxation of being out on the lake.

Am I addicted to fishing, OP? Am I lazy? Am I just in it for the dopamine rush? Am I in denial??????????????

And I play a lot of video games, too. Sometimes even fishing video games! I guess I'm just a dead man walking.

Spot on. They love to throw around pseudo science to try and get gamers to behave in ways that conform to their ideology. The problem is that the internet has been debunking the feminist and SJW crowd for years now, every time they say something irredeemably dumb they get a beat down by gamers and anti-feminists. It's quite funny to watch really, it's almost like...a big meta game.

But if you are 30, a slob, unemployed, live with your parents and play a lot of games, then you probably can spend your time doing something better than acquiring another addiction.
