Do GPUs with no PCI Express Power Connector will any have issues?

Hello! This may be a bit weird question but I want you guys to clarify my question. Do the GPUs which doesn't have PCI-e Power Connector experience lags and stutters while in intense gaming? I mean when we are demanding more Graphics Settings in Games which require more power from the GPU (without Power Connector) drawing power directly from Motherboard cause any stutters/lags? Are those kind of GPUs capable of acquiring clean and sufficient power from the Motherboard itself, thus leading to pure Gaming experience?

I may plan to buy a NVIDIA GTX 1050Ti which requires no Power Connector. Also, I found some GPUs like ASUS STRIX requiring Power Connector. What I'm thinking here is, picking up the cards with Power Connector give good performance without stability issues. Am I right? Please explain.

Is a GTX 1050Ti a good budget pick? (I only choose from NVIDIA)

Thanks in advance.

No it's not causing any lags. Difference between the 1050Ti with and without power connector is the TDP limit. Without connector the cards are limited at 75W. With connector they have a higher limit. This isn't causing lags, but the cards with connector have higher overclockability and sometimes higher boost clocks, but the boost clocks for every model are given in the shops. So you'll be able to compare.

I think Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 [Ti] is a poor value: compared to 1050 Ti with supplemental power (up to 1.9 GHz), 1060 3 GB (up to 2.1 GHz) offers 166% FLOPS, while having 133% price (200 vs 150 USD).

Power is NOT the issue in regard to any stuttering, etc. If the card is getting all the power it was designed to get, it'll perform exactly as it should. The GTX 750TI is a fine example. Any stuttering is due to the card not being fast enough for the game, not because it's lacking electricity.

Same goes for the 1050 and 1050TI. Extra power is only for overclocking and pushing the card faster than stock, extra cooling, etc. It's not lack of electricity resulting in poorer performance, it's that the other is getting the extra juice to overclock and cool the extra heat.

As long as one knows what they're purchasing with these GPU's w/out a power connector, no problem. There's many OEM PC's that can greatly benefit from some of these cards, especially those that ships with the GDDR3 versions. 1GB GDDR5 is at least as powerful (if not more so) than a 2GB GDDR3 card across the board, GPU-Z can verify this with before & after install snapshots, it's specs hasn't lied to me yet.

The only PC's I install these 128 bit cards in these days are SFF PC's that I still have, and I'll usually grab a 1GB GDDR5 OEM low profile card to replace whatever 6-10 year old card is installed, these runs w/out a 6 pin adapter. And compared to onboard Intel GMA or NVIDIA nForce solutions, one will feel that their computer is like new again.

That's the main thing, is knowing what one's getting, if more power/solid gaming performance or pushing a 4K UHD monitor is desired, look the other way, you'll be disappointed if not.

On the other hand, if one simply wants a better looking monitor (up to 1080p) to browse the Web with and light gaming, then one of these can really make a major improvement on many systems.
