I guess that is a double standard. But getting back to the 'queer' word, there isn't really an equivalent abusive used by gay people to describe heterosexuals. (Sometimes gay people refer to heterosexuals as "breeders", but it's not usually done in a mean spirited way, and it's a pretty mild insult, in my own opinion, compared to f@g, f@ggot, queer, pansy, etc.)
