My mother started seeing strange spots in her vision, getting lost in places she knew well, and smelling odd things. She went to the doctor and he told her it was due to menopause. Six months later she had a small seizure and collapsed in the parking lot when I took her to the hospital to have her blood drawn. She had four inoperable tumors in her brain and was given six months. She lived two years with radiation therapy, and had we caught it earlier, we could have treated it MUCH more effectively. Although the chances of it actually being exactly similar are infinitesimal, I would definitely err on the side of caution on things like this.
